Technology Overview

System Biosciences (SBI) has created a new and unique approach that uses second generation effector libraries for rapid and robust genome-wide identification and analysis of genes that are functionally involved in any cellular response.

Effector Expression Libraries

Using a highly efficient lentiviral vector system,  effector expression libraries like the GeneNet™ siRNA Libraries provide a means to introduce and express many thousands of effector molecules into virtually any cells simultaneously. Effector molecules—for example, siRNA molecules, genetic suppressor elements, ribosome, aptamer cDNA, etc—control cellular transcription, translation, or other molecular activity of cellular components.  Combining these effectors with viral vector systems, such as the Lentivector Expression Systems  which is highly efficient at introducing and expressing exogenous nucleic acid sequences in almost any mammalian cell or model organism, offers a new system-based approach to identify whole sets of genes involved in any biological response.

These libraries, with their unique delivery and expression capabilities, will revolutionize how researchers investigate gene function and understand the mechanisms controlling complex biological responses.
